According to this contract, the Russian investor is going to invest 2500 billion rials to build and equip a transportation terminal, unloading and loading of coal and potash fertilizer in accordance with the latest facilities and equipment in the specialized site of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone.
Increasing the share of Fern from the monthly transit of 2.2 million tons from Russia to India
The CEO of Sarkhas Special Economic Zone stated about the importance of concluding this contract: According to the announcement of the Russian customs, up to 2.2 million tons of coal are moved from this country to India every month, and the signed contract will allow a special part of the transit of Russian cargo to India and even to Iran from the border of this region to be carried out in Sarkhes. .

Kalai considered the stabilization of the north-south passage from the Sarkhes border as another achievement of the construction of the coal handling terminal in the Sarkhes special economic zone and added: With the launch of this terminal, in addition to increasing the share of the Islamic Republic of Iran in cargo transit from Russia to China, we will witness a very high foreign exchange income for the country, create employment and economic development of the city and the special economic zone of Sarkhes.
Turkish investment of 3 million euros to build a sulfur processing plant
However, the attraction of foreign investment in Sarkhs Special Economic Zone is not only from China and Russia, but also Turkish investors, recognizing the importance and position of this strategic zone, have declared their readiness to participate in the implementation of its development projects, and in this regard, with the Special Economic Zone Sarkhes and the Turkish investor, the contract to build a sulfur processing plant in this area was signed with an investment of 3 million euros by the Turks.
With the signing of this contract, one of the country’s largest factories for the production of sulfur products will be built in Sarkhs Special Economic Zone, so that after processing, all kinds of sulfur-based products and chemical fertilizers produced through the customs of this region will be exported to countries such as India.
Opening of the first phase in early 2023
The CEO of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone said about this contract: The construction of a sulfur processing plant with the participation of a Turkish investor, in three defined phases. The first phase of this plant will be put into operation in early 2023 by the Turkish company Kimia Sulfur, with the annual import of about one million tons of sulfur to Ferkhes.
He added: Currently, 32,000 square meters of land has been purchased by a Turkish investor for the construction of a sulfur processing plant, and the relevant equipment has been loaded from Turkey and is on its way to Iran.
Sulfur supply from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Sarkhes Refinery
The CEO of Ferkhes Special Economic Zone continued: A major part of the sulfur needed by this factory will be supplied from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, and a part will be supplied from the Gas Refinery, which will be exported to the markets of Turkey and India after being converted into various fertilizers and sulfur products.
