The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, referring to the order of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development after his trip to Turkmenistan, said: The honorable minister’s order was to visit the axis of Ferkhes border as soon as possible and examine the cases and problems they have in order to speed up their implementation operations.
He continued by stating that we have about 320 km of different highway routes in Razavi Khorasan province. A part of these routes is carried out by the Khorasan Razavi Road and Urban Development Department and a part by the country’s transport infrastructure development and construction company.
Khademi added: In the freeway sector, there are two freeway projects in our work plan that are being implemented, and in the rail sector, which is from north to south and from Chabahar to Razavi Khorasan, they are emphasized for acceleration.
The CEO of the country’s transport infrastructure construction and development company said: The completion of the Mashhad-Sarkhs axis is an executive priority for us and the approval of the honorable presidency, and considering that this axis is part of the main north-south corridor and the gateway of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the Sarkhs region to the countries of Central Asia and the Northeast, it is of great importance. has and besides being a provincial and national route; By connecting to the country of Turkmenistan, it is also considered an international route.
He said: This route from Mashhad to Sarkhes is 180 km, and about 130 km of it has been put into operation and is under traffic, but in the mountainous limits of this route, which is actually the Mazdavand pass, and it is actually the most difficult pass of the route, and the bottleneck of our north-south corridor from Bandar Abbas. And from Tehran’s side, this area is considered to be the remaining area, which is 45 kilometers long, and its executive operations are being carried out.
Khademi stated: The heavy blasting operation of nearly 3 million cubic meters has been carried out and two tunnels and many bridges are on the way, the physical progress of the entire axis in this 45 km area is above 80% and we hope that next year with the financial injection provided by the organization The plan and budget are done and the emphasis is on making this axis ready for operation and ready to be delivered as a transit axis and the bottleneck of the north-south corridor in the east of the country.
Referring to last week’s visit of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development to Turkmenistan, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: One of the agreements of this trip was to increase the cargo capacity in both the road and rail sectors in Sarkhes, and to increase this capacity, one of the requirements is that we can increase the infrastructure of this area, and one of our plans is also The construction of a new route is to increase road traffic on this route.
