According to the Communications and Media Department, this project has been implemented in an area of 100 hectares of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone and in the form of 27 parks, squares and islands (intermediate island of roads).
200% growth of green space per capita in the region
CEO of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone stated: By planting these saplings, the area’s green space per capita will increase by 200% and its total green space will reach 150 hectares.
Mohammad Reza Kalai continued: The restoration of the native species of Pede tree in Sarkhes is another program that we are trying to reproduce this valuable species by producing 100,000 cuttings from it next year.
He called the development of green space one of the important programs of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone and said: According to the plan made to transform Sarkhes Special Economic Zone into a rail, road and air transportation hub of the CIS area, the development of green space in this site is of great importance.
Kalai added: This area is considered one of the most important ports of the country in terms of transit, export and import goods, therefore it is planned to complete the per capita requirement of green space.
He said about the type of seedlings planted: The special climate and weather conditions of Sarkhs have made it necessary to use species that are suitable for the climate of this city, such as poplar, mulberry, and elder.
Kalai continued: Due to the windy nature of this area, appropriate vegetation will play a protective role against dust from local storms, so expert work has been done to select the best seedlings.
He added: The purchased saplings have been selected after the visit of experts and consultants in the field of green space and have a guarantee in terms of quality.
