The CEO of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone announced the full readiness to develop economic interactions in the region and attract foreign investors and said: One of the programs being pursued in the Sarkhes Special Economic Zone is to set up the capacity to transfer goods to containers and continue its route from the CIS countries to Bandar Abbas, and with its realization, this area will become the container hub of the northeast of the country.

On the sidelines of the Indonesian ambassador’s visit to Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, Mohammad Reza Kalaei, in a conversation with our reporter, pointed out the capacities of this zone and stated: In the northeast of the country, we have three border exchange points with neighboring countries, among which, Sarkhs special economic zone, with the necessary infrastructure, has a wider capacity than the other two borders, namely Lotfabad and Inchebarun, and in addition, the axis of Sarkhs- Bandar Abbas and Sarkhs-Chabahar have added to these advantages and led to the formation of a corridor.

Details of the master plan of Fern Special Zone

He continued: Currently, there is the ability to store 100,000 tons of goods in the warehouses of the region, and if the private sector invests, it will be possible to increase the warehouse and dock by 51,000 square meters in the next phases.

He considered the third part of the comprehensive plan of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone to be related to the allocation of 1,200 hectares of land for domestic and foreign investors and said: This area is divided into three parts: light, semi-heavy and heavy industries.

Kalai continued: Zones that can operate in this sector will include food, textile, cosmetics, electronics, automobile and separate parts, non-metallic and metallic minerals, chemical, petrochemical and steel industries.

The possibility of equipment and machinery entering the area

Kalai said that Sarkhs Special Zone considers itself a partner of investors. We will work with investors to obtain establishment permits, while there are no restrictions for the entry of raw materials, machinery and equipment, etc. into the region for established production units, and these equipments can enter Ferns from any border.

Advantages of investing in Fern special area

Referring to the advantages of investing in this special area, he noted: The discount of the commercial profit of the goods from the customs when the final product will be produced is one of these advantages. In addition, we can mention the 13-year tax exemption and the possibility of employing 5% of the workforce located in the production unit from the investor country or other nationals.

Attracting 150 domestic and foreign investors in the region

According to Kalai, currently 150 investment units from Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Pakistan and Afghanistan have been attracted to Sarkhs Special Economic Zone, of which 48 units have received operating licenses and other units are in the process of construction and completion. and obtaining permits.

Preparation of the special zone for the implementation of investors’ plans

He states: Sarkhes complements Bandar Abbas in the area of transit from the Persian Gulf to Central Asia, where the route of these two cities has been created in terms of rail and road. On the other hand, the Sarkhes to Chabahar rail route has been put into operation, and the Zahedan to Chabahar rail route is also underway, and with its operation next year, the eastern corridor of the country will be completed.

Saying that we are going to create the largest container hub in the east of the country in the special economic zone of Sarkhes, Kalai said: The special region has many plans in the field of investment and we are ready to cooperate with domestic and foreign investors.

He continued: Among these projects, we can mention the areas of food industry, production of automobile tires, which in addition to meeting domestic needs, also has an export aspect, construction of industrial slaughterhouses, container construction with the aim of meeting the needs of the country, manufacturing of automobile parts, etc.
