Forecasting the production of 4400 tons of cotton seeds
This year, about 900 hectares of fields of Razavi Agricultural Company have been cultivated with cotton, which is a 68% increase compared to last year.
In this way, Anabd Agriculture and Industries have allocated 470 hectares, Torbat Heydarieh 167 hectares, Sarkhs 104 hectares, Esfrain 92 hectares, and South Khorasan endowments 55 hectares of their land to cultivate this low-water crop.
Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi Barroudi, the CEO of Razavi Agricultural Company, pointed to the estimated production of 3,000 tons of cotton and 1,400 tons of cotton seeds this year. It is expected that the work of harvesting cotton from the company’s land will continue until the end of December.
Production of cultivars with optimal performance
It was in 2013 that Anabod Agriculture and Industry obtained the privilege of exclusive production of Varamin and Khursheed varieties in the country so that its seeds can be offered to farmers only through Razavi Agricultural Company in the country.
Mousavi Berrodi clarified about the characteristics of these figures: Varamin is a native variety with a history of cultivation, good yield and demanded by farmers for cultivation.
He continued: This clay variety has a growth period of 180 days, is compatible with the conditions of arid and semi-arid regions, and is easier to manage.
The CEO of Razavi Agricultural Company said: Short growth period (120 days), reduction of labor costs, suitability for mechanized harvesting and water saving are among the characteristics of this variety.
He added: Khursheed variety is especially popular among farmers due to its ability to be cultivated after wheat harvest.
Mechanized cotton harvesting
Emphasizing that mechanization in the agricultural industry is a way to sustainable development, Mousavi Berroudi said: Until three years ago, cotton harvesting was done only by human labor and manually, with the aim of increasing productivity, speeding up harvesting and reducing costs, the use of ginning machine is on the agenda.
He continued: This year, with the method of planting cotton in rows of 70 cm, this company was able to use a two-row cotton harvester.
Mousavi Barroudi stated that the development of planting and harvesting tools in Razavi Agriculture Company with the cooperation of the private sector has made significant progress in the last few years. Due to the use of mechanization, despite the reduction of water resources, the quality and quantity of products has increased.
He continued: Due to the increase in cultivated area and the need to speed up the harvest at the right time due to the preservation of the viability of the seeds obtained from the produced bush, the improvement of the quality of the product, the favorable marketability in the production cycle and also the reduction of production costs, the use of mechanization is inevitable.
