The participation of Astan Quds Razavi and University of Science and Technology for the implementation of knowledge-based projects in the field of transportation

Following the start of the country's first International Silk Road Logistics Research Institute in Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, Astan Quds Razavi and Iran University of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation to provide knowledge-based services and research projects with the approach of developing the transportation industry in Sarkhes.

According to our correspondent, with the signing of this memorandum, which took place in the presence of Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, the President’s Vice President for Science and Technology, the ground has been laid for the implementation of scientific and technological projects in the field of logistics and transportation using the capabilities of the country’s experts, as well as university professors and students. Focusing on a scientific and innovative look at the field of logistics on the Silk Road

Mohammad Reza Kalai, CEO of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, said: The International Silk Road Research Institute has started its work for the development of this industry in Sarkhes by taking advantage of the scientific power of the Iran University of Science and Technology, which is considered one of the oldest universities in the Middle East in the field of logistics and transportation.

He continued: Considering the growing trend of investments as well as the development of infrastructure in the Sarkhs Special Economic Zone and on the other hand the global developments that have attracted the attention of this region, the need to use the power of scientists to implement knowledge-based projects in the field of transportation was felt.

The CEO of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone stated that the main goal of establishing the country’s first international logistics research center is to focus on a scientific and innovative approach to the issue of the Silk Road in the field of logistics with the focus on Sarkhes Special Economic Zone.

He continued: In this research institute, international projects focusing on logistics and transportation will be implemented by the University of Science and Technology. On the other hand, Sarkhes Special Economic Zone will support these scientific and research activities.

Kalai considered the establishment of the Silk Road Logistics Research Institute as a bridge between the scientific community and Sarkhes Special Economic Zone and added: These plans are selected and implemented in line with the type of investments made in the region and the required technical attachments.

He called the creation of international work teams and networking among the professors of the Silk Road universities and the CIS area among the future achievements of this research institute.
