Development of logistics infrastructure in Sarkhes Special Economic Zone / opening of the second unloading and loading terminal in Fajr decade

At the same time as this year's Fajr decade, the second unloading and loading terminal in Sarkhes Special Economic Zone will be put into operation to facilitate the transfer of goods from wagons to trucks and vice versa while developing logistics infrastructure in the region.

According to the public relations report of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, the vice president of investment of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone said in an interview with Astan News: The construction of this terminal started in April of this year by the “Rail Gostar Logistics Rah Asia” company as a private sector and currently it has 85% progress. This is the first loading and unloading terminal built by the private sector.
Ehsan Jalair said: In this project, two wide rail lines of 1300 meters length have been created in the interior of the region, after the operation, the continuation of the second phase and the extension of the other two lines of 1500 meters length will be on the agenda.
He continued: In addition, two large platforms for the transshipment of passenger cars are being designed and implemented by Rail Gostar Logistics Rah Asia Company, which is in its final stages.
The vice president of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone investment said about the second phase of this project: In the second phase, it is planned to build a grain unloading pit next to the wide rails so that the required grain of the province can be imported from this port.
He added: In the second phase, the construction of specialized and roofed warehouses, as well as the provision of all comfort facilities for drivers, will be on the investor’s agenda.
Jalair added: The focus of this company is mostly on the transfer of passenger cars from trucks to wagons, which will be done easily with the construction of loading and unloading platforms. In this way, two wagons side by side can load two passenger trucks at the same time, which will double the speed of work progress.
He called preventing wagons from sleeping in the special economic zone of Sarkhes as one of the other advantages of implementing this project and said: In the past, the transfer of goods from wagons to trucks was done only by the region, which sometimes caused wagons to fall asleep due to the increase of freight companies.
Jalair clarified about the facilities provided to this private sector investor for the construction of this site: In this regard, in addition to providing infrastructure facilities, the terminal land with an area of 13 hectares has been assigned in long-term installments.
