Iranian railway managers visit Sarkhs special economic zone

With the approach of familiarizing with the developing infrastructure and capacities of the transportation sector in Sarkhs Special Economic Zone and the development of interactions and cooperation, a group of Iranian railway managers visited the logistics sites and units invested by private units in this sector.

According to the public relations report of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, during this visit, the Vice President of Commerce and Operation of Iranian Railways expressed his satisfaction with the infrastructure created in Sarkhes Special Economic Zone and stated: This is the only region in the country where significant rail infrastructure has been built to facilitate transportation with foreign countries, especially the CIS region.
Morteza Jafari, while presenting effective proposals to increase the volume of incoming cargo and speed up the distribution of wagons among investors to reduce the process of loading and unloading, demanded that the sleep of wagons, especially foreign wagons, be minimized.
He also informed about Iran’s railway providing discounts to the owners of goods who unload and load high-tonnage products through the Fern Special Economic Zone.
The vice president of Iranian Railways Commercial and Operation continued: One of the requests of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone during this visit was to receive the technical approval of the railway for private rail sites invested in the field of logistics, which was agreed to.
Referring to the parliament’s approval of the bill to transform the Sarkhes special economic zone into a free trade zone, he noted: With the start of the official activity of this area as a free zone, we will see an influx of transit loads to this area in the near future.
Jafari continued: Sarkhs Special Economic Zone and the railway must develop their cooperation and take effective steps in order to revive the Silk Road, and the railway will not spare any help in this regard.
Stating that last year, 80% of the country’s rail transit took place through Sarkhes border, he said: This indicates the complete readiness of the region to complete the infrastructure, which has been able to export this significant volume of goods to the countries of Central Asia.

50 kilometers of rail laying in Ferkhes special economic zone
Referring to the creation of 50 kilometers of wide and normal rail in the region, the vice president of human resources development of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone stated: According to the needs of the investors, the extension of the Central Asia wide rail into the region has been done, which has removed the heavy cost of the bus replacement operation from the shoulders of the investors.
Mohammadreza Barhamand said: Due to the location of the wide rails of Central Asia in the region adjacent to the normal rails of the Islamic Republic, good infrastructures such as forklift platforms and grain unloading pits have been designed and implemented in the Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, which has accelerated the transfer of goods from wagon to wagon and vice versa. , an action that has caused a significant reduction in the sleep of wagons in the region.
