Planting of 20,000 saplings to deal with micro-pollens by Fern Special Economic Zone

In line with the people's plan to plant one billion saplings, with the approach of dealing with micro-pollens, helping to curb air pollution and developing green spaces, 20 thousand saplings were planted in the Sarkhes Special Economic Zone belt on the route of the international road of Sarkhes-Mashhad.

Mohammad Reza Barhamand, the deputy of human resources of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone, said in a conversation with public relations of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone: These saplings include elder, pede, and eucalyptus, which have been planted in an area of 10 hectares. Also, caparis plant, which plays an effective role in combating micro-pollens, has been planted on a trial basis this year.

Referring to the existence of four critical centers of wind erosion in Sarkhes, he said: Due to the location of these centers in Samad Abad, Abmal, Najiran and Gonbadli, every year the special economic zone plants saplings around the transit routes in order to prevent road and rail tracks from being blocked by micro-growers.

The deputy of human resources of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone continued: On the other hand, due to the increase in the amount of micro-pollen in ferns, especially in recent years, and the serious threat to human health, it has caused the planting of seedlings to become the permanent basis of the programs in this region.

By stating that Razavi Khorasan has 18% of the country’s deserts, Brahmand noted: This indicates that 48% of the area of this province is desert climate.

He continued: The importance of this issue has made 75 hectares of the total area of 5 thousand 290 hectares of Sarkhes special economic zone to be allocated to green space.

Referring to the establishment of a 5000 square meter greenhouse in this area, the deputy of human resources of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone said: According to the existing request for planting flowers and trees in the region, this greenhouse was built on the fern site to reduce costs.

Brahamand continued: All kinds of seasonal flowers such as chrysanthemum, evening primrose, gazania, marigold, marigold, etc. are grown in this greenhouse, and after the main land is prepared, they are transferred and planted.

He also announced the planting of 50,000 cuttings of mulberry, elm, Juniperus, eucalyptus, etc. trees in this greenhouse this year and added: These seedlings are transferred to the desired place for planting when needed.

The Deputy of Human Resources of Sarkhes Special Economic Zone stated: One of the most important cuttings cultivated in this greenhouse is Pede seedling, which is a special type of fern and its origin is Tajen river and it is compatible with the climate of this city.
